THE TAILOR UNDERSTOOD THE ASSIGNMENT FOR THE RED-LETTER DAY!

After arguments and numerous changes of fabrics and patterns-going back and forth with choosing the right colours for the graduation day attire, the graduands finally won the battle, and showed up in stunning outfits at the Durban University of Technology (DUT) Autumn graduation.

It was day two of the Durban graduation at the Olive Convention Centre and the spotlight was on the Faculty of Applied Sciences and their dazzling outfits. It was clear as daylight that the graduands came in ready to cross the stage, as they showed up in different outfits and matching shiny shoes and shades of course- to complete their looks.

Nomsombuluko Sikhosana, who did her National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry, shared the inspiration behind her legendary traditional outfit.

Sikhosana came in wearing her traditional Ndebele attire alongside her grandmother, mother, aunt and her little sister. Nomsombuluko family came all the way from KwaNdebele in Mpumalanga.

“We bought our attires in Pretoria. The purpose for this look was to showcase my beautiful Ndebele culture and have all its beautiful colours reflected in me. I love my culture and I think I made that too obvious,” explained Sikhosana.

Sikhosana is currently pursuing her Advanced Diploma in Applied Sciences from DUT and it was evident that she has more coming for her next graduation. The excitement was written all over her face and she laced her look with a beautiful smile.
