The dedicated homeopathy practitioner, Nondumiso Thusi, hailing from the vibrant city of Newcastle graduated for her Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education at the Durban University of Technology (DUT) 2024 Autumn Graduation held at the Indumiso campus (PMB), on Monday, 13 May 2024.
Her transformative journey at DUT commenced in 2015 when she embarked in the journey of studying Homeopathy.
“The honour of receiving Cum Laude distinction upon completing my Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education is undeniably a feather in my cap, poised to elevate my credentials as I embark on the quest for new opportunities post-graduation. This achievement not only enriches my educational trajectory but also fortifies my personal and professional acumen,” she said.
Embedded within the ethos of DUT lies a core value that deeply resonates with her which is commitment. As a diligent student, she had encountered numerous challenges, foremost among them being financial constraints. However, in the face of adversity, she persevered and triumphed
“As my beloved grandmother imparted, the greatest accomplishments in life are born from commitment, requiring sacrifice, perseverance, and resilience. This ethos has become my guiding light, reaffirming my belief that without constant dedication, true depth and mastery in any endeavour remain elusive. Also, the joyous reaction of my brother upon hearing the news of my academic achievement serves as a poignant reminder of our shared journey, marked by mutual support amidst adversity. It is in his honour and in alignment with my fervent desire to effect positive change that I chose to pursue a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education,” explained Thusi.
With steadfast determination, she aspires to serve as an inspiration to others, demonstrating that through her unwavering commitment, the realm of possibilities knows no bounds.
“My ambition is to attain professorship in both of my chosen fields of study, a goal that fuels my relentless pursuit of excellence,” said Thusi.
She advises students to commit to their chosen field and give it their all.
“To the upcoming graduates, I offer this advice, commit wholeheartedly to your studies, for it is through sheer dedication and perseverance that true greatness is achieved,” she advised.
