The Durban University of Technology (DUT) earned a Diamond Arrow at the 2023 Professional Market Research (PMR) Awards ceremony that was hosted on Tuesday, 22 August 2023 at the Southern Sun Elangeni & Maharani Hotel in Durban.
DUT was awarded with the prestigious Diamond Arrow Awards: Leaders and Achievers Outstanding. In 2020 and in 2021, the University was awarded with the Diamond Arrow Award in the same category: Leaders and Outstanding First-Overall Achievers in KwaZulu-Natal. Still on that excellence trend, In 2022, DUT received a Diamond Arrow Award at the 2022 Professional Market Research (PMR Africa) Awards.
Johan Hattingh: CEO- PMR Africa Awards gave an overview of the research surveys and awards presentation as well as the purpose of the awarding ceremony.
“The purpose of the function is to create an opportunity and platform where PMR Africa’s coveted Diamond, Gold, Silver and Bronze awards can be handed over to companies, institutions and individuals that have excelled during the past year. The purpose of PMR.Africa Awards is to enhance competitiveness, create a unique marketing tool, enhance excellence in industry and to set a benchmark in industry,” said Hattingh.
PMR Africa conduct an annual survey in April of each year. In the survey, participants reflect on the different organisations’ status over the past 12 months. The PMR Awards identify contributions and initiatives, strategies, efforts and hard work done by companies in their sector. PMR Africa evaluates the company’s vision, integrity, values, competence and ‘empathy’ that contributes to ethical and sustainable business practices.
Mr Alan Khan, the Senior Director for Corporate Affairs at DUT shared his gratitude.
“Durban University of Technology is proud to once again receive the Diamond Arrow Award from PMR Africa. We are extremely grateful to our staff and students for living the values and principles as enshrined in our ENVISION2030 strategy and we also thank our amazing DUT alumni and our external partners, for their unwavering support,” shared Mr Khan.
