The Durban University of Technology (DUT) proudly hosted the 2023 ENVISION2030 Institutional Awards to honour the outstanding achievements of its staff and students. The prestigious event took place at the Hilton Hotel in Durban on Saturday, 30 November 2024.
Celumusa Chonco, Advanced Diploma in Accounting Programme Coordinator and Lecturer was awarded the Innovative Curricula Award (Platinum) under the Learning and Teaching Category.
This award ceremony was followed by DUT recently honouring its top-performing students and academics at the Faculty Awards Ceremony held on 3 December 2024 at Coastlands Musgrave Hotel. The sterling Department of Financial Accounting stole the show receiving nine awards for all their hard work and determination which had culminated throughout the year.
The Faculty of Accounting and Informatics staff team won the Faculty Sports Award for soccer.
Dr Haruna Maama, Postgraduate Diploma lecturer was the recipient of the Research Culture Award for advancing research initiatives.
Bhekisisa Ngcobo, a third year Diploma in Accounting lecturer was the proud recipient of the Transform Curricula Award for driving Engineering Practice Innovation Project (EPIP), is a teaching mode, guided by project practice for innovative teaching and learning.
